"This just in- Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead"

In the mood to look at pictures of square-jawed men looking pensively into the distance or striding into the bright new dawn of a strong and united nation? Are you also in Madrid by any chance? The exhibit "Posguerra. Propaganda y Publicidad en España 1939-1959" is currently at el Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and features several propaganda posters from the authoritarian Franco era. As with all propaganda posters of the twentieth century, expect to see people who look entirely too excited to be engaging in basic daily activities and a vague undercurrent of homoeroticism.
